Showroom
Showrooms and retail spaces, considered.
A shop or showroom tells its story through the pieces that frame the products: the pedestal that lifts an object into view, the mirror by the fitting room, the bench where a customer pauses to take it all in. At Kristina Dam Studio, each of those pieces is treated as sculpture, pared back to its essential lines, built from solid oak and steel, and made to hold its shape through years of daily use, not a single season. Founded in Copenhagen in 2012 by graphic designer Kristina Dam, the studio brings an architect’s precision to furniture for spaces where every surface is part of the presentation.
The Showroom collection brings together everything needed to furnish a store or showroom from entrance to counter: Curved and Japanese pedestals, side tables and tray tables to display products at different heights, Stack and Japanese display cabinets and Stack bookcases for collections that deserve a closer look, and Foldable bookcases, side tables and consoles for flexible displays that can change with the season. Planar wall shelves, Column coat racks, Dowel mirrors and Serif Relief wall art bring the walls into play, while Curved benches, Simple stools, side tables and coffee tables, and a Collector dining table with chairs create places to sit, talk and meet clients. Because every piece shares the same honest materials, clean geometry and quiet, monochromatic palette, the furniture frames the products rather than competing with them, and architects, retailers and interior designers can mix series freely and still create one coherent design language. Solid oak brings warmth and grain to displays and seating areas; stainless steel adds structure and a cool, architectural edge to shelving and wall displays. These are pieces that suit a store’s opening day and will still feel right through many seasons of new collections.
A considered interior carries its language into the smallest details. Pair the furniture with objects from Decoration or Sculptures, a vase on the counter or a sculpture on a pedestal by the window.
